About the Role

Athabasca Catering is seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at our northern sites.

We are a successful remote site catering company with over 27 years of experience in the industry. Our success can be attributed to high client satisfaction, high-quality food service, and a skilled management team.

The successful candidate will report to the Lodge Manager on site and be responsible for planning and directing on-site food preparation and cooking activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct on-site food preparation and cooking activities
  • Ensure adherence to standard kitchen operating procedures for food quality
  • Ensure the quality of food preparation and presentation
  • Ensure the kitchen is compliant with regulatory requirements for food handling, sanitization, and cleanliness
  • Monitor kitchen inventory
  • Shifts are 14 days in and 14 days out, with great team environment, extended health and dental benefits, complimentary flights, accommodations, and meals

Qualifications

  • Possession of current Food Safe Certification
  • Possession of a Red Seal Certification is considered an asset
  • Experience with kitchen management within the service industry
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe and effective manner
