Job Summary

As a Health Care Aide - Clinical Support Specialist at Hamilton Health Sciences, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care through various activities. This position requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support patient care activities, including patient flow, equipment management, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Provide assistance to patients, families, and healthcare staff as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in selected patient care activities, as assigned.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education, with the ability to read and write English proficiently.
  • Current certification in CPR, obtained within the last 12 months.
  • Completion of a Personal Support Worker or Health Care Aide Certificate program.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience in a similar role, with a focus on handling and reprocessing delicate equipment in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in using Meditech, Community Wide Scheduling, and Sovera systems.
  • Experience in maintaining and stocking materials and supplies.
  • Working knowledge of Universal Precautions, Additional Precautions, and WHMIS.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions, set priorities, and organize work accordingly in a busy environment.
  • Ability to lift using proper lifting techniques and bend, push, and pull using good body mechanics.
Additional Requirements
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, as a condition of employment.
  • Support for students and other learners, as a teaching hospital.
