We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Architectural Designer to join our Healthcare team in our Toronto office. As a key member of our design team, you will provide design leadership on various projects, overseeing the entire design process or assisting as a technical expert on specialized design.
Key Responsibilities- Work with the Project Manager to create work plans, drawing lists, scope of services, budgets, and staffing requirements.
- Review and monitor project scope and initiate corrective actions in cooperation with the Project Manager.
- Lead the Kasian design process through the creation of design concepts, generation of presentation material, and required submission documentation.
- Responsible for conceptual design excellence; provide guidance to the design team.
- Implement design standards and guidelines.
- Lead and take responsibility for delivery of project design, including coordination of design, production, contract administration, and financial success of multiple projects.
- Work with technical and contract administration staff to produce successful design development and contract documentation in alignment with Kasian's standards of quality, client program, and budget needs.
- Lead project meetings and client presentations, or co-chair with Project Manager/Project Director.
- Interact with clients on a broad range of sensitive administrative and management issues.
- May prepare contract documents and specifications.
- Properly maintain project records.
- Coordinate building and development permit submissions.
- Architectural degree from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 10+ years of architectural experience; 5 years minimum in healthcare projects.
- Registration with a provincial regulatory board an asset.
- Capable of providing leadership in design.
- Extensive Contract Administration experience.
- Strong technical background.
- Strong software skills, Revit is considered an asset.
- Detailed knowledge of applicable building codes and by-laws.
