We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Health Care Support Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services.

About the Role

Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, Registered Nurse, Registered Psychiatric Nurse, and/or Licensed Practical nurse, the Health Care Support Specialist acts as a member of the healthcare team, assisting with patient care and providing basic supportive care as directed. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care and provide basic supportive care as directed.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.
  • Previous patient care experience preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload.
  • Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.

Salary and Benefits
