About the Role

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Data Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to leverage your technical expertise to design, develop, and maintain our data infrastructure.

Job Summary

This role involves developing and implementing database testing plans, assessing methodologies for data retrieval and manipulation, and analyzing system performance to inform management decision making. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating complex documentation and user support guides, delivering presentations on financial data and models, and serving as a resource on specific issues to a group of specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing database testing plans, scenarios, and environments
  • Determining methodologies for data retrieval and manipulation
  • Analyzing system performance to inform management decision making
  • Creating complex documentation and user support guides
  • Delivering presentations on financial data and models
  • Serving as a resource on specific issues to a group of specialists

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a background in statistics, mathematics, computer science or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience supporting data-driven decision making by conducting detailed data analysis and using large datasets
  • Advanced knowledge and experience writing complex SQL queries and procedures
  • Experience in the creation and debugging of databases
  • Strong working and conceptual knowledge and experience of building and maintaining physical and logical data models
  • Experience automating workflows and monitoring data processes

Benefits and Salary

We offer a competitive salary of $97,500 - $124,167 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include a comprehensive health and dental plan, life insurance, and retirement savings plan.
