Environmental Specialist

We're currently seeking an Environmental Technologist to join our team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and hardworking individual who is passionate about the hazardous materials and environmental assessment field.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough building investigations for Asbestos, Designated Substances, Mould, and other Hazardous Materials;
  • Collect and analyze air and bulk samples during the abatement of designated substances and hazardous materials;
  • Provide technical reporting for projects involving the abatement of the aforementioned materials;
  • Investigate and monitor air quality, including indoor and outdoor air quality sampling and monitoring;
  • Analyze phase contrast microscopy (PCM) air samples for airborne fibres using NIOSH 7400 method;
  • Interpret laboratory analytical results;
  • Prepare technical reports for surveys, site investigations, and abatement monitoring;
  • Complete Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I and Phase II ESAs);
  • Oversee Environmental Site Remediation (Underground Storage Tank Removals, Soil and/or Groundwater Remediation);
  • Collect groundwater and surface water samples;
  • Liaise and communicate with clients and troubleshoot issues independently at the client site;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Skills and Knowledge We Seek

  • College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field;
  • Experience in Environmental Consulting, Designated/Hazardous Materials Surveys, and Phase I, II, III Environmental Site Assessments is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Designated Substance Regulations and Environmental Site Assessment Regulations is an asset;
  • Strong communication and writing skills, including the ability to write technical reports;
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary groups and independently;
  • Highly motivated and able to work well within a team environment;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills;
  • Must be available to work during weekends and nights, as required.
