Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Control Specialist to join our team at Colas Western Canada Inc. in Edmonton, AB. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic through our work zones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and Control Traffic: Safely direct and control traffic (motoring and pedestrian) in and through the work zone, and direct site equipment when working in close proximity of traffic and other hazards and obstructions.
  • Communicate with the Public: Communicate and interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist with Site Operations: Assist trucks in accessing and exiting work sites and direct them where to dump loads, assist with set up and maintenance of project signage and barricades, and assist with measuring work areas for quantity calculations.
  • Manage Haul Tickets: Receive, sort, and file haul tickets from delivery trucks, and track hired equipment work time and issue pay tickets/receipts.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2 years' of experience in a Flag Person position.
  • Certifications: Must hold an industry standard Flag Training certificate.
  • Skills: Must be able to take control and give firm clear directions, work extended hours and irregular days with irregular breaks, spend extended periods of time standing, walking, and holding items, and work outdoors in all temperatures.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies, and be willing to work overtime as required.

Work Schedule
