Parksville Bottle & Recycling Centre Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bottle Depot Supervisor to join our team at Parksville Bottle & Recycling Centre. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our bottle depot, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational plans to prioritize tasks and optimize depot efficiency.
  • Coordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management on depot performance and operational metrics.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery, and arrange for maintenance and repair work as needed.
  • Recruit and train staff in duties and policies, and coordinate training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies, and requisition or order materials as required.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as logistics, supply chain management, or environmental operations.
  • College diploma or certificate in a relevant field, such as business administration, environmental science, or logistics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and resolve conflicts.
Working Conditions:
  • 35-40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as required.
  • Permanent full-time position with opportunities for career advancement.
  • English language proficiency required, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, customers, and external partners.
