Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse - Casual Position

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team at West Park Health Centre, a 69-bed long-term care facility in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to residents, working under the direction of the Director of Care. This is a casual, part-time position with no lines, offering flexibility and variety in your work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide resident care in accordance with established nursing standards, physicians' orders, and administrative policies.
  • Assess residents, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, and monitor residents' health.
  • Organize and direct functions and activities related to provision of care, including restorative care and palliative care as required.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of personal care staff assigned to the unit.
  • Ensure safe and accurate medication administration to residents.
Qualifications:
  • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, including infection control.
  • Experience interacting with persons with cognitive impairments and previous experience working in long-term care in Ontario.
  • Effective human relations skills, commitment to working with seniors, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
