About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Strategist to join our team at BRP. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in shaping our data governance landscape and driving business success.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, our comprehensive benefits package includes:

Job Description

As a Data Governance Strategist, you will be responsible for:

  • Deploying and enforcing policies and procedures that ensure data is used and maintained properly.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to determine, develop, operationalize, and regularly evolve the standards, processes, tools, and best practices related to the data governance foundation.
  • Growing data literacy and data maturity across the organization through effective communication strategies and training.
  • Supporting business lines' decision-making bodies in analyzing risks and potential gaps between expectations and operational practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant post-secondary education in data, computing science, business, economics, operations research, engineering, statistics, data governance, or other technical disciplines.
  • 5+ years' experience in the field of data management, data governance, change management, and implementation of complex technology systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality concepts, as well as its best practices. Strong knowledge of Data Governance platforms and their implementation, such as Collibra, Alation, AXON, Watson IGC, or others.
  • Good knowledge of data loss prevention, SOC, or cybersecurity operations with specific understanding of tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, Privacy Act Canada, Bill 64, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence and orient business and technical audiences toward a common goal that satisfies all stakeholders.
