Are you a skilled mechanic looking for a challenging role where you can make a real impact? We're seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to join our team at United Rentals, a leading equipment rental provider.

As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on complex equipment, ensuring it's safe and in good working condition. You'll work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, and have the opportunity to train and mentor junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on rental equipment, including inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Assist in the training and development of junior technicians, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including completion of work orders and documentation of repairs
  • Travel to customer job sites as needed to perform repairs and maintenance, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Assist with the delivery and pickup of equipment and parts, ensuring timely and efficient service
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including participating in safety initiatives and contributing to a positive team culture

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools and equipment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
