The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our Fleet Services Division, Department of Public Works. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our fleet of heavy duty equipment, ensuring that our vehicles are safe and operational at all times.

Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be required to perform a variety of mechanical duties, including the repair of gasoline and diesel engines, as well as heavy and light duty vehicles. You will be expected to work safely and effectively, detecting and mitigating potential hazards in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Graduation from High School
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic, or equivalent foreign credential
  • At least 5 years of experience in the repair of automobiles and heavy equipment
  • Ability to work independently and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Physical fitness to perform the duties of the position
  • Valid Driver's Licence
