Seeking a seasoned Financial Planning Expert to support our Vancouver office for a 3-month contract with the potential to become a permanent full-time position.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, FP&A, you will be responsible for developing complex financial models to inform management decision-making and assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Your duties will include:

  • Performing comprehensive monthly variance analysis to drive executive decision-making
  • Preparing a monthly Reporting Package for internal and external stakeholders
  • Reviewing monthly Administration Expense reports and distributing them to department leaders
  • Partnering with senior leaders across the organization to understand drivers of variances and their impacts on the business
  • Collaborating with senior leaders to develop the annual budget, forecasts, and other ad-hoc projects
  • Supporting the team in preparing management materials for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintaining an environment of continuous improvement by strengthening, modifying, or eliminating current processes to increase efficiency and strengthen controls

You will also perform ad-hoc work as requested by management and external stakeholders.

About You

To succeed in this role, you must be a seasoned Financial Planning expert with a CPA or CFA designation and at least 5 years of progressive financial planning & analysis work experience.

Additionally, the following skills and qualifications are desired:

  • Strong FP&A and complex financial modeling experience
  • Solid forecasting and variance analysis experience
  • High standards of accuracy, precision, and attention to detail
  • Proven analytical thinker and creative problem solver with an outside-the-box mindset in a fast-paced business environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to communicate with people at all levels of the organization and in all areas of the business, including non-finance individuals
  • Comfortable presenting to functional teams, management, and executives
  • Strong ownership and accountability
  • Ability to work with limited direction across multiple functions and understand key trends and link strategy to underlying drivers and impacts of the business
  • Highly organized, able to multi-task, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure and deadline-driven environment

Advanced Excel skills and Adaptive Planning/Power BI skills would be an asset.

A competitive salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
