About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at EllisDon Forming Ltd. as a Forming Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites
  • Train and supervise apprentices
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and handling heavy loads. The work will be physically demanding, with tight deadlines and a large workload.

Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
