Job Summary:

The Senior Mine Planner will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and economically sound development and operations of the underground mine. This position requires a strong understanding of mine planning principles, technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a 3-month mine plan and a rolling 12-month mine plan to meet production commitments and goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop conceptual mining plans.
  • Communicate effectively with Geology personnel to ensure timely ore updates.
  • Produce conceptual mine development and long hole designs.
  • Use financial and economic data to ensure cost-effective mine plans.
  • Lead monthly 3-month mine plan meetings.
  • Produce monthly production review reports.
  • Assemble mine monthly operation reports.
  • Conduct ground control inspections in mine active headings on a weekly basis.
  • Assess ground conditions for mine planned development.
  • Organize annual pull tests on ground control products with the Operations department and suppliers.
  • Produce ground support upgrade and rehab plans.
  • Complete underground site rock mass mapping.
  • Build phase 2 models, collect long hole performance data to update mine stability graphs to support future long hole design.
  • Collect installed MPBX data to monitor ground movement.
  • Review ground control for mine development layouts.
  • Assist in producing mine development driving layouts when needed.
  • Assist in mine ventilation design when needed.

Requirements:

  • Graduated from a recognized Mining engineering program.
  • Member of Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in mine planning, engineering, and project experience.
  • Narrow vein mining experience is preferred.
  • Well-developed computer skills, specifically with software such as AutoCAD / Amine, and MS Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work positively with a team of professional and technical people in a changing, creative, and energetic environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
