Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Affairs Officer to join our team at the Canadian Armed Forces. As a Public Affairs Officer, you will play a critical role in providing sound communications advice to military commanders and advising on all aspects of external and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute communications strategies to inform the public of the Canadian Armed Forces' roles, activities, and work.
  • Analyze and evaluate attitudes in the national and international media.
  • Contribute to policy development and provide strategic communications advice to military commanders.
  • Work in a modern office setting and deploy anywhere in the world to support CAF operations during times of conflict, peace support operations, or humanitarian missions.
  • Collaborate with Image Techs to create products for social media and other channels.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and technologies to effectively tell the Canadian Armed Forces' story.
Requirements
  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, or Journalism.
  • Previous experience working in public affairs, public relations, or journalism is an asset.
  • Basic training and military officer qualification training are required before being assigned.
