About the Role

The Canadian Armed Forces is seeking a skilled Public Affairs Officer to provide expert communications advice and support to military commanders and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Media Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of national and international media attitudes to inform strategic communications decisions.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development of policies and guidelines that promote effective communications and public relations.
  • Information Gathering and Dissemination: Gather and provide information to internal and external stakeholders, including journalists, special interest groups, and individuals.
  • Communications and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute communications strategies to engage with key stakeholders and promote the Canadian Armed Forces' roles and activities.
Work Environment

Public Affairs Officers work in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment, often collaborating with colleagues from various backgrounds and disciplines.

As a Public Affairs Officer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and initiatives, from crisis communications to public relations campaigns.

To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements
  • Education: A university degree in Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, or Journalism is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in public affairs, public relations, or journalism is an asset.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both official languages (English and French) is required.
