As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate with healthcare providers to assess, educate, prevent, maintain, and restore patient health. With clinical competences to manage patients with mental health conditions and expertise in counseling skills, you will foster close relationships with peers and connect with physicians, staff, patients, and families effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, prioritizing their needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, volunteers, and families to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Maintain a safe environment by following health and safety policies and guidelines.
- Cultivate strong relationships with patients, families, and peers, promoting a positive and inclusive work culture.
- Participate in ongoing learning and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills, driving continuous quality improvement.
- Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Certification in Crisis Intervention by Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) is preferred.
- Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Geriatric Psychiatry experience.
