The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health - CAMH is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Crisis Service Department. This role involves providing client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care, ensuring the security and safety of the care environment, and practicing in accordance with CNO standards.

About the Role

  • We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • This part-time, permanent position requires a commitment of 0.50 FTE, with potential for additional hours based on operational needs.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to perform ongoing assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate interprofessional plans of client care.
  • As a member of our interprofessional team, you will work closely with other services in the Acute Care Program and community agencies to coordinate care for clients.
  • Your skills and experience will include making behavioral observations, mental status, and physical assessments, monitoring patients' responses to pharmaceutical and care interventions, and documenting patient information.
  • You will have sound knowledge of emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, addiction issues, trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented care, and severe and persistent mental illness.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • A current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate is also required.
  • Possession of a B.Sc.N and/or CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for developing effective Nurse-Client relationships and working within a collaborative interprofessional team.
  • Effective leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role.

Compensation and Benefits

">

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Vaccines, including COVID-19, are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

This position is part of the ONA Bargaining Unit and may be subject to change as per the Collective Agreement.
