Job Title: Welder-Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Welder-Fitter to join our team at Soo Foundry & Machine. As a Welder-Fitter, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal parts and products using various welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Fabricate or repair metal parts and products using various welding techniques
  • Determine weldability of materials and operate hoisting and lifting equipment
Requirements:
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
  • Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
  • Ability to work outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and organizational skills
