Job Title: Welder Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled Welder Fabricator to join our team at Soo Foundry & Machine. As a Welder Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal parts and products using various welding techniques and equipment.

Work Environment

Our work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on quality and safety. You will be working in a manufacturing setting, with exposure to various metals and materials.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Fabricate and repair metal parts and products using various welding techniques and equipment
  • Determine weldability of materials and operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
Requirements
  • Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
  • Experience with oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Physical ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
