About the Role:
MKA Canada, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team in Vancouver. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for managing a team of estimators and overseeing the development of conceptual to highly detailed level estimates and construction audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project finances, reports, and team performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their confidence and satisfaction.
- Lead and supervise a team of estimators, delegating tasks and overseeing their work.
- Understand client needs and develop strategies to meet their requirements.
- Prepare weekly forecasts for the team and ensure the quality and accuracy of our work product.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in construction quantity surveying, estimating, and cost management.
- Strong technical expertise in construction management or estimating, with a recognized technical qualification.
- Self-directed individual with leadership and mentorship skills to develop a core project team.
- Sound judgment and ability to provide cost and financial advice at any stage of a building project.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of construction design, layout plans, specifications, construction codes, and standards.
- Understanding of current market conditions, technological innovations, contractual laws, and regional variations affecting supply of labor and materials.
- Detail analysis and reconciliation of estimates and audit of project costs.
- Effective communication and record-keeping skills, with proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
