Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Acute Care department, you will provide primary therapeutic, case management, and mental health and substance use support services to clients in hospital, residential, and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients with mental health and substance use issues
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the inter-professional clinical team, clients, and families
  • Conduct assessments and risk evaluations to identify client needs and develop effective treatment plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support services
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in a mental health and substance use related discipline, plus two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Registration with a relevant professional organization (e.g. Canadian Psychological Association, Canadian Association of Social Workers)
  • Strong assessment and treatment skills, with the ability to work with clients with complex mental health and substance use issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
