About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals to perform a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.

Under the remote supervision of the Manager, you will work with our team to ensure the quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation maintenance required by hospital accreditation, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and Health Canada.

You will be expected to adapt procedures and perform complex computer manipulations and analysis while providing a high standard of healthcare to our clients. On a rotating basis, you will be required to independently perform on-call/emergency procedures outside of department hours for presentation to the nuclear medicine physician.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Able to adapt to changes or unusual circumstances in a way that promotes cooperation, teamwork, and minimizes disruption to the work environment
  • Able to establish a rapport with patients demonstrating courtesy, kindness, understanding, and professionalism at all times
  • Committed to practicing all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and demonstrating initiative in maintaining and expanding related skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends
Compensation and Incentives

$34.24 - $39.96 hourly
