About the Role- Teach a range of courses in both the Bachelor of Social Science – Addictions and Mental Health and the Addictions and Mental Health Ontario Graduate Certificate.
- Develop curriculum, design/revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning environment for our students, assess student progress and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in committees and related associations.
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, Social Policy, or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience teaching at the post-secondary level is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of community-related practice and/or clinical experience.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of current trends in the field of addictions and mental health, and experience working with diverse communities. The ability to teach courses across the institution, along with having specialized skills in translating theory into practical application, supervising field placements and/or thesis projects, participating in industry-led or community-based applied research, and excellent written and oral communication abilities, is essential.
