Your Opportunity:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care on an acute surgical unit at Alberta Health Services. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive patient care in accordance with AHS policies and procedures.
Description:
The RN in this role will provide a wide range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities. They will utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to prioritize patient care and ensure the delivery of safe, quality care. The RN will also participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of high-quality patient care strategies within the surgery program.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
- If not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, completion of CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Successful candidate is expected to pass the medication calculation exam (80% score) provided by the surgery program within 14 days of orientation
- Ability to work within a team environment and effectively contribute to patient/client planning processes
- Excellent communication skills, a compassionate and caring attitude, and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
