About the PhD Internship

The Bank of Canada is seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our team as a research intern. This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of Canada's economy, in a diverse and inclusive organization with significant impact on the economic and financial well-being of all Canadians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in macroeconomics, monetary economics, banking and payment systems, international economics, global commodity markets, financial economics, financial markets and institutions, labour and demographic economics, mathematical and quantitative methods, industrial organization, or law and economics.
  • Present and promote research to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Bank staff and external researchers to advance knowledge in these areas.

Requirements

  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Good standing in a PhD program.
  • Excellent writing and research skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex economic and financial information.
  • Research interest in one or more of the specified areas.
