We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Researcher to join our team at the University of Ottawa.

As an Academic Researcher, you will contribute to the development and implementation of research projects related to African studies. Your expertise in social and cultural anthropology, specialization in the anthropology of Africa or its diasporas, or Black studies, Afro-descendant will be essential in furthering the strengths of our School in contemporary issues.

You will have the opportunity to work on various projects, including food, gender, environment, or migration, which align with our interdisciplinary and pan-Faculty Major/Minor in African studies. Additionally, you may explore other areas such as urbanism, health, Indigenous peoples, science and technology, media, and engaged anthropology, including social justice, epistemic justice, equity and inclusion.

The successful candidate will teach four courses per academic year, supervise Master's and PhD students, and participate in the development of the African studies program. Your ability to work in both official languages of the University of Ottawa at the time of appointment is considered essential.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The University of Ottawa provides a comprehensive benefits package, including long-term disability, basic group life insurance, supplementary health insurance, and pension plan.
