Job Summary

The City of Hamilton is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead projects related to wastewater infrastructure planning and development. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and/or environmental science, with experience in project management and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects related to wastewater infrastructure planning and development, including identifying infrastructure improvements required to address existing system deficiencies.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project progress and stakeholder interests are addressed.
  • Communicate with City officials and prepare project reports, presentations, and status reports as required.
  • Provide analysis on wastewater system capacity using computer spreadsheets and hydraulic computer models.
  • Manage projects following City project management and procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of civil engineering and/or environmental science principles.
  • Membership with the Professional Engineers of Ontario or the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists preferred.
  • Previous project management experience, preferably in a water/wastewater environment.
  • Knowledge of the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and the Ontario Water Resources Act.
  • Effective facilitation, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and/or work with a multi-disciplinary staff in a result-oriented and predominantly unionized environment.
