We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Toronto.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate initiatives to promote Health and Safety in the workplace.
- Verify certifications are obtained and monitor compliance for people and/or equipment.
- Initiate and coordinate H&S training in compliance with OHSA, Company H/S policies and procedures.
- Generate H&S statistics and provide reports to Management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Provincial H&S legislation and regulations, including MTO, MOL, WSIB requirements and guidelines.
- Partner with Human Resources on issues related to investigations and return to work planning.
- Manage and update MSDS.
- Participate with the JHSC and prepare meeting minutes.
- Complete regular audits of programs to ensure compliance.
- Load securement/transportation compliance.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities:
- Maintain quality management program in compliance with company standards and CSA standards.
- Conduct quality system training.
- Create and update documentation within the quality system.
- Oversee inspection process for incoming, in-process, and finished products.
- Manage corrective action.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety.
- CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a safety role, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of quality management an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate with accuracy and detail.
- Current knowledge of the OHS Regulation, Regulations for Industrial Establishments, MTO, MOL, WSIB Regulations and Requirements.
- Ability to work an occasional afternoon shift.
- Detail-oriented and good time management skills.
