The successful candidate will report to the President & CEO and serve as an integral member of the executive management team, assisting in the development and implementation of the Company's strategic direction as it enters into its next phase of significant growth and new product offerings.
The VP Software Engineering will lead the engineering teams by demonstrating cross-functional expertise and leadership skills within the development domain, aligning the Engineering team's activities with the company goals and strategic direction.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science, with a strong emphasis on software development and working knowledge of Cloud Computing, Social Networking, and emerging trends in the broadcast industry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the multi-disciplined product development team, including organizational planning, recruiting, setting objectives, and providing feedback and career development for all engineering staff.
- Overseeing and managing outsourced suppliers, both in North America and offshore.
- Collaborating with the CEO, CTO, and Product Management to define and execute the product roadmap.
- Establishing key indicators for competitive performance in completion of development projects and for rapid, realistic decision-making on strategies, plans, and projects.
- Maintaining keen awareness of trends and conditions in technology, products, and development tools relative to the company's customer business.
- Building and facilitating strong relationships and synergies with all other areas of the company and with technical partners and customers to achieve corporate goals, objectives, and revenue targets.
The successful candidate will have experience in international markets, system integration, manufacturing, and project management, with a proven track record of success in aggressive product development life cycle management in a technology-driven organization.
The ideal candidate will possess passion, creativity, and leadership skills, coupled with rigorous ROI analytical and hands-on implementation skills, and experience in implementing best practices in operations, quality systems, and engineering in an environment where customer demand is the predominant theme.
