Job Title: VP Corporate Engineering

A leading technology company, Stonewood Group Inc., is seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP Corporate Engineering to lead its product development team and contribute to the company's strategic direction.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning the engineering team's activities with the company's goals and strategic direction, providing overall leadership in engineering to achieve corporate milestones, and overseeing the development of operational policy, procedures, and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the product development team, including organizational planning, recruiting, and career development for all engineering staff.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, CTO, and Product Management to define and execute the product roadmap.
  • Establish key indicators for competitive performance in completion of development projects and for rapid, realistic decision-making.
  • Ensure operational milestones are met on time, with high quality, and that they meet the cost objectives established.
  • Maintain keen awareness of trends and conditions in technology, products, and development tools relative to the company's customer business.
  • Build and facilitate strong relationships and synergies with all other areas of the company and with technical partners and customers.
  • Manage independent R&D centers of excellence, providing guidance and direction in support of immediate customer demands and longer-term product direction.
Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Over a decade of experience in product and system development, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in international markets, system integration, manufacturing, and project management.
  • Demonstrated success in aggressive product development life cycle management in a technology-driven organization.
  • Passion, creativity, and leadership skills, coupled with rigorous ROI analytical and hands-on implementation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in implementing best practices in operations, quality systems, and engineering in an environment where customer demand is the predominant theme.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate a highly skilled technical team.
  • Experience managing outsourced engineering teams in multiple locations.
