Job Title: VP Software Engineering F/H

A leading Public Technology company headquartered in Ottawa, with regional offices in the US and Europe, is seeking a highly skilled VP Software Engineering to lead its product development team.

The successful candidate will report to the President & CEO and serve as an integral member of the executive management team, assisting in the development and implementation of the company's strategic direction as it enters a new phase of significant growth and new product offerings.

The VP Software Engineering will lead the engineering teams by demonstrating cross-functional expertise and leadership skills within the development domain, aligning the team's activities with the company's goals and strategic direction.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science, with a strong emphasis on software development and working knowledge of Cloud Computing, Social Networking, and emerging trends in the broadcast industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the multi-disciplined product development team, including organizational planning, recruiting, and career development for all engineering staff.
  • Overseeing outsourced suppliers in North America and offshore.
  • Collaborating with the CEO, CTO, and Product Management to define and execute the product roadmap.
  • Establishing key indicators for competitive performance in completion of development projects.
  • Maintaining awareness of trends and conditions in technology, products, and development tools relative to the company's customer business.

The successful candidate will be a passionate, creative, and results-driven leader with experience in international markets, system integration, manufacturing, and project management. They will have a proven track record of success in aggressive product development life cycle management and implementing best practices in operations, quality systems, and engineering.
