About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our team in the Electrical & Automation Industry. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our customers across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting services to customers to resolve issues with Rittal AC and Rittal Automation products.
  • Repair and Commissioning: Execute repairs and commissioning of Rittal AC and Rittal Automation products according to manufacturer's instructions and specifications.
  • Customer Service: Work closely with the Service Coordinator to ensure timely responses to customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Service Contract Development: Develop and advise on Service contracts to customers to ensure optimal maintenance and support.
  • Spare Part Management: Assist in managing spare parts inventory to ensure critical spares are available for timely repairs.
  • Training and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest training and knowledge from HQ in Germany and ensure the latest information is shared with the team.
  • Remote Monitoring: Work with customers to transition to Rittal Smart Service and monitor their factories remotely.
  • Product Improvement: Liaise with product management to identify common failure modes and improve product development and quality.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Assist the Service Coordinator with scheduling and planning of work and PM activities.
  • Service Conference: Attend the annual global Service Conference and represent Electrical & Automation Industry Careers.
  • Service Performance: Develop and track Service-related KPIs to ensure world-class performance is achieved.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales department on key projects and issues.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions and organize training materials for internal and external customers/partners as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Apprenticeship, College, or University degree/diploma in a Service or Technical field.
  • Licenses: Valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Refrigeration Mechanic, or Air Conditioning Mechanic license.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a similar industry/field.
  • Skills: Strong technical aptitude, motor skills, basic understanding of mechanical principles, Auto Cad experience, and proficiency with Office Suite programs.
  • Language: Proficient in English and French (speaking, reading, and writing).
