About the Role

AECOM Canada is seeking an experienced hydrotechnical project manager to lead multi-disciplinary project work and ensure projects adhere to Canadian Dam Association (CDA) guidelines and industry best practices.

This role can be based out of Calgary, with opportunities for hybrid work options. You will have the flexibility to do your best work in a dynamic environment where your integrity, entrepreneurial spirit, and pioneering mindset are championed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of projects including dam safety and infrastructure projects, including inspections, assessments, and rehabilitation design.
  • Ensure all projects comply with CDA guidelines, including conducting dam safety reviews, developing Emergency Preparedness Plans, and monitoring programs.
  • Oversee project timelines and client communications to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide technical expertise in hydrological issues related to dam safety.
  • Develop proposals and contribute to business development efforts in dam safety and hydropower sectors.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, regulators, and clients to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster technical development within the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a related field of engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Canada.
  • 4+ years of experience in dam safety engineering and project management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CDA guidelines, hydropower, and water resource management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in dam safety engineering and project management strongly preferred.
  • Ph.D. degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in hydropower, flood management, or other water resources projects.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools such as HEC-RAS, GeoStudio, and other modeling tools.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. AECOM offers a wide array of compensation, benefits, and well-being programs to meet the diverse needs of our employees and their families.
