Hydrotechnical Project Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Hydrotechnical Engineer to join our team in Calgary, Alberta.
This role involves working on varied projects, developing skills with guidance and mentorship from senior team members.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and leadership on projects and staff, including performing technical analyses where appropriate.
- Support project coordination, cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, client reports, progress reports, project scheduling/resourcing, and meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Assist in project scoping and proposal preparation.
- Mentor and train staff, promoting Thurber's mission, vision, and values.
- Participate actively in the field as needed to meet client expectations and project objectives.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and manage projects.
- Travel to project locations, client offices, and other Thurber branch offices.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geoscience with a hydrotechnical focus and/or related work experience.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Comfortable driving mid to full-sized pickup trucks in various environments.
- Proficient in spoken and written English language.
- Graduate degree (Masters or higher).
- Able to conduct desktop and field-level scour and bank erosion assessments.
- Experience with linear infrastructure projects.
- Skilled in commercial analytical software packages for peak and seasonal flows assessment.
- Experience completing flood frequency analysis (FFA) and climate monitoring.
- Compliant with drug and alcohol testing policies.
