Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist, Medicine

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team in the Medicine/Respirology Unit at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in promoting patient and family-centered care approaches. Your clinical expertise, technical skills, and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate in interprofessional healthcare teams to provide high-quality respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and newborn patients in various units, including Critical Care, ED, Inpatient Units, Labour & Delivery, and Operating Room
Provide ventilation management, weaning, and discontinuation
Perform as a member of Code Teams and Critical Care Response Team
Assist at high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitation
Perform airway management, including intubations and tracheostomy tube insertions
Administer pharmaceutical substances in respiratory care
Perform related diagnostic tests, including arterial blood gas procurement and interpretation, and assisting with bronchoscopies
Supervise, teach, and evaluate students as assigned by clinical coordinator
Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals in respiratory care
Demonstrate the ability to lift and position patients and related equipment

Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution
Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, required
Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, required
Current NRP certification, required
Experience in adult intubation and adult radial arterial line insertion
Membership with C.S.R.T. and R.T.S.O. preferred
Experience in neonatal intubation preferred
