About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health are seeking highly skilled and motivated Respiratory Therapists to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation and advanced airway management in all areas of the institution
  • Deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gasses, aerosolized medications, and high humidity therapies
  • Perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing
  • Act as part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status

About You

We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Upcoming graduate or graduate of an accredited school of respiratory therapy and eligible for licensing with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced environment

Hours and Compensation
  • Various permanent, assignments (temporary), casual relief (no guarantee of hours), and opportunities available in various locations throughout Nova Scotia
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Graduate Respiratory Therapist - $29.66 per hour
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist - $32.43 per hour after providing proof of active-practicing license with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
