Job Title: Communication Specialist

Colas Western Canada Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Communication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a vital role in transforming our internal and external communications, driving employee engagement, and building our brand awareness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective communications strategies to engage employees and stakeholders
  • Manage our company's communication channels, including Sharepoint, digital displays, and email communication tools
  • Lead media relations activities, including social media management, website design, and online presence
  • Facilitate media training and response expertise for business leaders
  • Develop and manage a strong editorial calendar to inform key business initiatives, performance, and programs
  • Provide communications advice and support to leaders at all levels of the company
  • Develop plans and strategies with leaders to deliver on the company's priorities and growth ambitions
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or Post-Graduate degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
  • 5+ years of internal communications experience
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Demonstrated capability to manage confidential information and sensitive materials
  • Strong writing, editing, presentation, and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
