March Break Respite Camp OverviewThe Smart Centres Creative Arts March Break Respite Camp is a day camp designed for children and youth with physical disabilities and developmental delays. Participants will engage in music, visual art, movement, and drama activities, promoting social experiences and providing respite relief to families during the March Break school holiday.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Client Services Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will provide individualized assistance to assigned clients, facilitating their participation in the program and ensuring their safe involvement in various activities.
Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one support for assigned clients, including toileting, eating assistance, and behavior management.
- Facilitate clients' full participation in the program, adapting to their unique needs and abilities.
- Assist Group Leader/Personal Support Worker with other clients' requirements as necessary.
- Ensure safe participation of clients in various activities.
- Support lunch and break times for clients.
- Contribute to daily debriefing meetings and collaborate with program staff, volunteers, and families.
- Work as a team member, participating in site preparation, group activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Diploma in Developmental Service Work, Personal Support Worker certificate/diploma, nursing education, child youth worker/development degree/diploma, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education required.
- CPR certification (CPR HS) recommended.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate an asset.
- ASL qualifications an asset.
- Experience working with children or youth with physical disabilities and/or developmental delays.
- Proven ability to prepare clients who use wheelchairs for transportation.
- Demonstrated understanding and training in supporting individuals with ASD.
- Experience with creative arts facilitation preferred.
We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide benefits packages and ongoing learning opportunities to support your professional growth.
