Job Summary

Brandt is seeking a skilled Truck Technician to join our team at our Sudbury Peterbilt location. As a Truck Technician, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of trucks, trailers, buses, and coaches in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble and repair on-road equipment efficiently and effectively
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely
  • Use related instruments, hand/power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time spent
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements
  • Road test equipment and verify repairs as required
  • Other duties as required
Requirements
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems
  • Proven computer/ technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • A commitment to high-quality customer service
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous mechanical experience in a truck and coach environment is required
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
