Job Title: Technical Projects Specialist

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled Technical Projects Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Projects Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and reporting on technical programs of projects or technical components of projects assigned to project managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to Facilities Management, Asset Management, and Project Delivery Teams to incorporate ASHRAE guidelines in operations and project design.
  • Keep up to date on building systems best practices and trends to promote operational effectiveness, ensure compliance with all applicable laws, IO Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) guidelines, and Province Client design standards.
  • Collaborate with Project Management Team Members, set and monitor specific objectives of the project management team, and act as a role model, coach, and mentor to project staff on technical matters.
  • Contribute technical knowledge to the delivery of assigned facility-related projects from conception to completion, including new facility construction, facility addition construction, installation projects, renovations, occupancy-related projects, and facility infrastructure projects.
  • Effectively develop, oversee, and manage the delivery of assigned programs of projects, such as installation rollouts across multiple locations or delivery of interrelated projects.
Requirements:
  • University graduation or professional certification (P. Eng, CMA, CGA, or equivalent courses).
  • More than five years up to ten years of relevant work experience.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Process & metrics interpretation, development & analysis skills.
  • Effective client service / management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Extensive specific experience and skills related to the assignment.
