Director of Care Services

At Cheltenham Community, we are seeking an experienced and compassionate Associate Director of Care RN to lead our nursing team and provide exceptional care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee nursing team members and ensure clinical excellence in all aspects of care.
- Perform nursing duties to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Develop and implement clinical care processes to meet individual resident needs.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of required clinical programs.
- Participate in committees and foster a positive customer service environment.
- Coordinate care processes for RAI MDS Program, Nursing Rehab, and Restorative Care Program.
- Recruit, retain, and develop nursing staff.
- Identify learning needs and provide education to support clinical care program delivery.
- Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Support home area/neighbourhood leaders with complex care issues.
- Assist in staffing pattern development and evaluation.
- Contribute to job routine development for nursing personnel.
- Ensure resident-centered care and evidence-based best practice.
- Work with the DOC to align nursing practice with provincial governing body and organizational vision, mission, and values.
- Promote effective move-in and move-out processes.
- Participate in Resident and Interdisciplinary Team Conferences.
- Work in accordance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Monitor procurement and supply control procedures.
- Current registration with the provincial College of Nurses.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical nursing in seniors' care.
- Excellent proficiency with WORD, email, internet use, and computerized documentation.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members.
- Strong customer service experience.
- Willingness to upgrade and maintain personal and educational qualifications.
- As part of legislative requirements, all successful candidates must meet the provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements.
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing or equivalent post-diploma education.
- Knowledge of provincial Long Term Care Act & Regulations.
