We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our patient care team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our medical unit, ensuring the smooth operation of our patient care services.
Key Responsibilities- Administrative Support: Provide clerical support to our medical unit, including prioritizing and processing physicians' orders, coordinating patient appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Communication and Coordination: Act as a communication link between our medical unit and other departments, including bed booking, patient transfers, and test results.
- Record Keeping and Data Entry: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assembling and maintaining patient charts, transcribing patient data, and attaching relevant documents.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare staff, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Timekeeping and Payroll: Maintain accurate timekeeping records for regular and casual staff, submitting and entering payroll information as required.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Grade 12 education and completion of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of recent, related experience in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and computer software applications, including Microsoft Office.
