Job Summary

The Provincial Director, Private Partnership Development is a key leadership role at BC Housing, responsible for promoting the organization's role in creating new rental and ownership housing for middle-income households. This position requires a strong understanding of project management, development, and construction of multi-unit residential housing, as well as excellent consultative, facilitation, and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of professionals in promoting BC Housing's role in private partnership development
  • Coordinate the submission of project recommendations to various committees and approvers
  • Evaluate and approve final project designs, construction specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules
  • Ensure successful project execution and identify opportunities for partnership development of privately owned assets
  • Drive sensitive negotiations to secure government approvals for rezoning and subdivision with municipalities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in urban land economics, business administration, real estate development, or a related field
  • Extensive project management experience in developing multi-unit residential housing and mixed-use developments in the non-profit sector and private market
  • Excellent financial analysis, planning, monitoring, and reporting skills
  • Ability to examine, assess, and synthesize complex data and information to identify risks and develop business cases
  • Ability to learn and understand BC Housing's mandate, programs, and policies
  • Ability to establish a high level of rapport with senior management, governments, market and industry housing partners, and other relevant stakeholders
