Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance and Payroll Specialist to join our team at Sprott Shaw College. As a key member of our administration team, you will be responsible for processing accounts receivable transactions, preparing budgets and financial statements, and assisting with payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process accounts receivable transactions, including posting payments and reconciling accounts.
  • Prepare and reconcile banking records and government funding contracts.
  • Assist with preparing budgets and financial statements.
  • Process payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
  • Maintain payroll records and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay and benefits.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Proficient with bookkeeping and possess a strong attention to detail.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable and/or payroll administration preferred.
  • Self-directed and able to take initiative.
  • Exhibit analytical problem-solving with a strong intuition for navigating complexities and anticipating future challenges.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite.
  • Possession of Canadian landed immigrant or legal working status.
  • Standard requirements (criminal record check, medical clearance, ICBC driving record).
