We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance and Payroll Specialist to join our team at Sprott Shaw College. As a key member of our administration team, you will be responsible for processing accounts receivable transactions, preparing budgets and financial statements, and assisting with payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities- Process accounts receivable transactions, including posting payments and reconciling accounts.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and journals.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
- Proficient with bookkeeping and possess a strong attention to detail.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable and/or payroll administration preferred.
- Self-directed and able to take initiative.
- Exhibit analytical problem-solving with a strong intuition for navigating complexities and anticipating future challenges.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite.
- Possession of Canadian landed immigrant or legal working status.
- Standard requirements (criminal record check, medical clearance, ICBC driving record).
