Job Summary:

The Director of Rooms Operations is a key member of the hotel management team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Front Office and Housekeeping departments. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and develop a team of high-performing hotel department managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Lead, train, and develop a team of high-performing hotel department managers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Operational Excellence: Collaborate with the Front Office and Housekeeping leadership teams to ensure all brand standards are met, and company culture and programs are supported and encouraged.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the hotel's strategic plans, working closely with the Executive Committee to drive business growth and revenue.
  • Financial Management: Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts for all areas overseen, ensuring expenses stay within budget and revenue is maximized.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Build and innovate guest satisfaction programs for housekeeping and front desk, ensuring all guest needs are met and exceeded.
  • Team Scheduling: Review team schedules and lead all aspects of hotel departments, including Security, Reservations, and property interfaces.
  • Communication: Liaise with affiliate partners, including third-party operators, PR agencies, and operational vendors, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment, promoting the safety and well-being of guests and coworkers.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in the hotel industry, with at least 2 years of leadership experience in both Housekeeping and Front Office departments.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of front office procedures and proficiency with Opera system.
  • Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills, developed through researching, evaluating, and presenting arguments and data.
  • Education: Diploma/degree in hotel management is an asset.
  • Language: Fluency in English (en-US).
