We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Protection Specialist to join our team in Burnaby, BC. As a key member of our Power team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing protection and control systems for high-voltage substation projects throughout North America.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on power systems and substation protection. You will be responsible for coordinating project planning and design activities, ensuring successful project completion and meeting industry standards.

  • Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and standards for equipment and projects;
  • Analyze complex technical studies and project scopes, identifying opportunities for improvement;
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure accurate delivery and thorough P&C design that meets industry standards and specifications;
  • Coordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team members, ensuring seamless integration;
  • Conduct site visits to collect and verify data, supporting engineering during the project delivery cycle;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (specialization in Power Systems) or equivalent experience;
  • A minimum of 6 years of proven direct detailed design experience in Protection & Control for HV substation projects with Utilities in North America;
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation;
  • A valid BC Class 5 driver's license;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work independently;
