Brookfield Asset Management, Inc is seeking a highly skilled Director of Tax to provide Canadian international tax support.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze and model the Canadian tax implications of foreign affiliate transactions, including analyzing foreign affiliate financial statements and reviewing legal agreements.
- Communicate Canadian tax considerations to stakeholders globally and coordinate internal and external teams of professionals to ensure timely and accurate implementation of transactions.
- Collaborate with professionals throughout the organization to ensure all internal mandated legal entity protocols are complied with and stay current with changing tax laws that may impact the relevant transactions and structures.
- 7-10 years of progressive Canadian tax experience with more than 5 years of outbound international tax specialization in a Big 4 public accounting firm, law firm and/or a large multinational Canadian company.
- Experience managing large and complex transactions and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe complex tax concepts to various non-tax audiences in a clear and concise manner.
- Self-motivated and proactive with respect to managing workload and professional development and skilled in the use of excel for modelling.
